What Matters Is Doing What Matters.

So you're busy. Who cares? We're all busy. Being busy isn't an excuse for not getting things done. It's not a good reason for not accomplishing big goals and audacious dreams.

If you're one of those people making the comment that "there's just not enough time in the day to get it all done" then maybe you need to check your priorities.

Maybe you're letting good things get in the way of great things.

Maybe you're letting "going through the motions" distract you from courageous attempts at greatness.

The facts are clear and really quite simple.

We all have the same amount of time.

None of us has more time than the other. No one of us has less time than anyone else.

Time is what it is. It's not changing. Your priorities need to change though. Especially if you haven't given them fresh consideration recently.

As your life changes, things that used to be a priority no longer seem all that important.

It's all too easy to look back on the glory days and mimic those activities, hoping that what used to work will accidentally yield success all over again. And it rarely does -- because doing the wrong thing doesn't lead to awesome outcomes.

It just brings more disappointment.

Every day of your life you need to stop and ask yourself if what you're doing that day is getting you closer to where you want to be.

Dig deep. Cut through the layers of nonsense and mediocrity. Ask yourself the hard questions.

Does what you're doing really matter? Have you gotten sloppy and satisfied with second place? Are you developing skills that will get you the prize you have your eye on?

We are all busy.

Being busy isn't anything special. In fact, it might be distracting you from what really matters.

What matters is doing what matters. And if you're not, you're just wasting your time.

So you better fix it now while you still can. You'd better readjust your priorities, fix your attitude, and hone your skills.

Now is the time to work on being awesome.

Forget about the glory days.

Work on developing a glorious future.

Get your priorities straight.
