Awesome Isn't Free.

It is going to cost you to be better. It's not free to improve. You're going to have to invest your focus and time and money in order to create small differences that eventually yield big results.

Make no mistake: you will be better if you purposefully invest in things that make you better.

But those things don't just magically fall into your lap.

You have to seek them out. You have to be deliberate about bringing great people alongside you to support and build you into the person that you want to be. None of that is free.

Which is ironic because we already know that getting more requires investing.

It's preposterous to think that you could go into a grocery store, fill your basket full of produce and then simply take it all for free simply because you were hungry, and you needed to fill your belly. As hungry as you really might be, you can't get more until you pay.

Which is ultimately a discussion about how you spend your money.

Are you investing in more premium satellite TV channels, or are you spending your money taking a class that helps you learn a life skill that will get you closer to reaching your goal?

Are you investing in beers with the guys after work, or are you spending your drinking money on a coach or mentor who can help you round out a few rough edges and take a few steps closer to your dream?

It's going to cost you to be better.

Make no mistake—being awesome isn't free.

It's going to cost you money. It's going to cost you time. It's going to cost you sweat. It's going to cost you ridicule, more stress, and lots of uncertainty.

But, if you invest in you and believe in you and commit to doing whatever it takes to be the best version of you -- thats exactly what you'll get. You'll be that guy doing something outrageously awesome that everyone else talks about.

Just don't pretend like getting there is free. It certainly isn't.
