2 Keys To Getting More Done With Technology.

You're not really planning if you only think about what you what to do and not how you're going to do it. It's all too easy for good ideas to go unfulfilled simply because you didn't have the right tools to keep you organized and to remind you of when you need to get things done.

There has been a lot of discussions over the years about how to "get things done". Books have been written. Seminars created. And dozens of tools available for you to use. Here are a few things to think about.

1. The tools you use should go with you everywhere. Every time.

That means usually a web app and mobile apps. Make sure when you're reviewing tool that you make sure they can go where you go. And try it from where you usually work.  Do the different platforms sync properly? Is beautiful and easy to use?

You can't just use a desktop application or web app all by itself. Especially when you live a life that's on the go. Dig around a little bit and make sure the tool you're going to use is something that you will enjoy using each day. You'll need it.

2. The tools you use should replace your brain from remembering things.

Develop habits that have you flushing everything you need to remember out of your brain and into your task tracking app. It might sound crazy, but even the small stuff that your brain needs to keep track of slows you down from helping you be creative on other things.

So put yourself a reminder to take out the trash or to follow up on missed phone calls. Leave your brain's creative process for doing everything else. Which is another reason why you need your tools with you where ever you go.

The right tools make it easy to stay focused, on schedule, and working to your full potential.  No matter what is going on around you, the right tools (with the right process) can help you see through the fog.

Which is really want to do any way, right?
