Yesterday Was Your Future.
Not too long ago yesterday was the day that you were going to be successful.
Yesterday was the day that you were going to follow your dreams. Take a big step into the unknown.
Remember? You were going to change yesterday. Because it was the future.
And you wanted more for yourself.
So you told your friends about what you were going to do. Your family too.
You talked about how much money you were going to make. The superhero you were going to become. The new company you were going to start. How you were going to get in shape. Save some money. Go some places. Make new friends. Kick old habits.
It was your future. And it looked bright.
Mostly because that future wasn't today.
And it seemed like you had plenty of time to make it there.
So it was easy to dream about what you might do sometime in the future.
It was fun to think about how much better life could be. How much happier you could be. What you would do and where you could go.
All of that -- it seemed magical. At times, it was inspiration. At least it felt that way.
But your future was yesterday.
And today. And a little bit tomorrow. It's not a magical Neverland adventure that you achieve with luck and a little extra positive karma.
No. Your future is a series of yesterdays that come and go as you keep your head down fighting for the big dreams you want to achieve.
It was yesterday, and it will be today, and if you get a chance, it will be tomorrow.
But mostly, your future is all about what you did yesterday, and the yesterday before that, and the yester-week and month and year that came before that.
You ned to rethink your future.
Have you been lulled to sleep by the illusion of magical opportunities appearing sometime in the future?
If yesterday was your future how magical is your life today?
If you aren't where you want to be, then today is the day to build a new future.
Today is the day to learn from your mistakes and push forward towards the future you want for yourself.
Today is history.
A day of learning -- that you future is only would you make it.
It is a product of yesterday. The results of callused hands and a brow wet with sweat.
If you get a chance to do it all again tomorrow may you find yourself in the future that you started creating today.
