Why Your Business Strategy Is Just Nonsense.
It looks good. On paper. Heck, it even sounds good in the boardroom.
But it's flawed. Your strategy, that is.
And you know it.
We all know it.
And we're hoping that no one has the guts to point it out.
To make the case that we need to change our thinking.
And here's that pitch.
Enough with transactions.
Your plan. Your ideas. Your motivation.
Stop just doing would works today to get you out of trouble and start focusing on the big picture.
That thing you call destiny. Success.
No matter how you button it up, the idea comes down to the same core foundation.
You will never do more than you become.
Doing more isn't the key. Doing more faster isn't right either.
You have to become a better person. You have to become a better organization.
A better leader. A better group.
A bigger inspiration.
The rest is just nonsense. Smart sounding nonsense.
But stone-cold idiocy none the less.
And that's why your strategy never seems to work.
Because you are fishing for "Get Out Of Jail" cards, not really challenging yourself to rise beyond your own limitations.
It doesn't work.
You're taking the cowardly approach to inspiration growth -- which isn't all that inspiring in the first place.
And for some reason, we all smile and nod and pretend like our sophistication and advanced degrees excuse away the lack of audacious candor and grandiose ambition.
We focus on doing better actions and fail to become amazing people. Amazing people who inspire those around us to do amazing things.
And so at the end of the quarter or the year, we are left with ideas and excuses and explanations and lack the confident humility to demonstrate that we are simply "headed in the right direction"
Which is really all that is expected in the first place.
Progress. Planning. Passion.
