Does It Really Matter?

Does it really matter that you start something and don't finish it? Sometimes. Does it really matter that you do what's right even when no one is watching? Sometimes.

Does it really matter if you try your hardest and still lose? Sometimes.

Does it really matter that you're right most of the time? Sometimes.

Does it really matter if you make a lot of money but aren't content with who you are? Sometimes.

Does it really matter that others around you don't respect you? Sometimes.

Does it really matter how smart you are if you can't use that brilliance to build something amazing? Sometimes.

Does it really matter that you pretend to be somebody different then you are really are on the inside? Sometimes.

Does it really matter that you're famous if you're a fool? Sometimes.

Does it really matter what other people think about you? Sometimes.

Does it really matter that you're just going through the motions instead of putting it all on the line? Sometimes.

Does it really matter that you would like to be successful if you're not willing to keep trying? Sometimes.

Sometimes it matters.

It depends upon your perspective at the moment. What can look dreadfully important one moment is vividly unimportant the next.

It is your perspective that decides what matters.  Your state of mind.

Which is all the more reason why your business needs to be surrounded by healthy opinion. By bold ideas. By executives who are willing to be radically creative.

Instead of making broad, sterile decisions, think beyond the moment. Think beyond the pressures that influence you right now. Imagine the possibilities that exist. Then work towards making those reality.

Ask yourself, does it really matter that you played it safe if ultimately you aren't successful?

Probably not.
