Why I Hate Pettiness…

Pettiness is the suicide-bomber of healthy morale.... (DEWISM)

Come to think of it, I have never met anyone who was petty with whom I actually enjoyed spending more than 30 seconds... (and that time was probably a waste as well)

(By the way, in case you are trying to link the picture of Tom Petty to this discussion -- good luck. Just thought I would break up my tirade with a little "Here Comes my Girl"...)

Being petty starts from a lot of different emotional states. Largely those who practice this "art" consistently have the need to feel vindicated by destroying something else. It's a banal instinct to break rather than to build. The primary driver is FEAR... (always...always....always the case)

In essence, pettiness is a value construct that proffers the illogical argument of contemptuously assaulting SUBSTANCE with STYLE...

I HATE PETTINESS....because its only purpose is to destroy... No semblance of constructive mentorship... No attempt at responsive dialogue... No need for quantitative personal growth... SIMPLY DESTRUCTION...

SO, if you are on the receiving end of pettiness, don't get angry over the delivery of the message, the tone of the contempt, or the range of emotional outburst purported to be in the context of "all that is right", simply smile and ask your attacker:

"What Are You Afraid Of?"
